Author's meeting with Mikołaj Grynberg

About having a heart attack, dying, but above all about life. We will talk about all this on October 15 at 17:30 in the Poczytalnia Na DVorec during the author's meeting with Mikołaj Grynberg. The meeting will be hosted by Anna Roża. There will be an opportunity to purchase books at the meeting. Admission is free.

The starting point will be the book “The Year I Died” - a personal and moving story that arose after the author's heart attack. This event became a turning point for him: it changed his priorities, his outlook on death and, above all, on life. There will also be topics that have been an important part of Grynberg's work for years — the history and experience of Polish Jews, memory, identity and personal histories.

Mikołaj Grynberg — writer and photographer, psychologist by education. Author of the albums “A lot of women” and “Auschwitz — what am I doing here?” His pictures were presented almost all over the world. He published collections of conversations “Survivors of the 20th century”, “I accuse Auschwitz. Family Tales” and “The Book of Exodus” and two volumes of short stories: “Confidential” and “Rejwch”, which was nominated for the Nike Literary Award and the Angelus Central European Literary Prize. In 2021, he made his directorial debut with the documentary “Proof of Identity” produced by the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews. For several years he has been conducting workshops on writing personal stories.
