Voodoo — this word is associated with getting rid of the enemy by sticking needles into wax dolls, with black magic and Hollywood.

In Benin, the official religion is voodoo. It was from here, along with slaves, that the syncretic religion of voodoo came to America.

In Benin, no one is surprised to see the Salesian Fathers praying in the church during the day and going to the Temple of the Pythons across the street in the evening... Voodoo is a way of life here, and the oracle read by the priest is indisputable.

The Vodun Festival, held in the first half of January in Ouidah, is an annual religious festival in which the highest authorities of Benin participate together with the High Priest.

However, Benin and Togo are not just voodoo. It is nature, villages, Lake Nokoué with the village of Ganvie but above all wonderful PEOPLE.
