About the event

With the beginning of the next artistic and educational season, the series Encounters with a fairy tale is returning to the Municipal Cultural Center, aimed at the youngest book lovers. This time, little readers will learn about the culture and customs of the most remote corners of the world in order to enrich their knowledge of the world in an accessible form.

The magical world of book stories opens up unlimited cognitive possibilities for children, and its extraordinary characters help them discover their own sensitivity, get used to difficult emotions or learn to enjoy the little things. However, children's literature has much more power — it allows you to travel around the world, reach its farthest corners and discover the beauty and value in what makes us different. By delving into stories from different parts of the world, children enrich their knowledge of other cultures and inhabitants of distant countries, learning empathy and openness to the unknown or simply not yet known.

Where will the story take us at the first meeting in October? To the land of cherry blossoms, full of magical creatures and imaginary worlds where wise messages intertwine with traditional beliefs, building stories of respect, courage, kindness and sensitivity. Exotic fairy tales handed down in Japan from generation to generation will be complemented by stories about modern Japanese children and their daily lives, learned from the perspective of young travelers Iga, Gutka and their dog Globe.

But what would the stories of Japan be without playing with the art of origami? As part of a creative workshop, children, with the help of their parents, will try their hand at precise cutting and folding, creating their first paper animals. We are waiting for a valuable meeting that will guarantee young readers fun and learning in one!

The meeting will be led by Daria Zarzeczna — instructor, cultural animator, lover of books, including children's literature, and the Polish language. Doctor of Humanities in the field of linguistics, graduate of Polish philology at the University of Szczecin.
