Meeting with Justyna Mazur-Kudelska and Kamil Bałuk

Justyna Mazur-Kudelska and Kamil Bałuk combined their journalistic experiences to create a documentary true crime podcast for Polish Radio entitled “Ordinary Woman”. The ten-episode series debuted at the end of September and early October 2026 on the Trójki radio and on the Internet. The main topic of the podcast is the unexplained murder of Janina Kalińska, which occurred in 1983. For several years, the creators investigated the matter, analyzing the militia documentation and comparing the information contained in it with the materials of the former TV show “997". They also reached witnesses who can still remember the events of more than forty years ago. Their accounts allow you to look at the matter from a different perspective and show that people's memories do not always coincide with what is recorded in official records.

Justyna Mazur-Kudelska is one of the most recognizable Polish creators of crime podcasts. She gained popularity, first of all, thanks to the author's series “Fifth: Do not kill”, dedicated to real crime stories.

Kamil Bałuk is a journalist, reporter and author of books, known for tackling social issues and creating documentary reports. Among his publications is the book “All the children of Louis”, among others.

“Ordinary Woman” combines journalistic inquiries with an attempt to recreate the events of years ago. It is a story about an unexplained crime, the memory of witnesses and the search for answers that have not been found for decades.
