We cordially invite you to a meeting around the catalogue accompanying Krzysztof Gil's exhibition, dedicated to the complex and multidimensional issue of the ghetto in the modern world.
The exhibition reflects on the evolution of the meaning of the concept of ghetto. Formerly it meant a physically separated part of the city — enclosed, fenced off by walls and separated from the rest of the space. Today, it increasingly refers to the social and economic mechanisms of exclusion that shape the poor neighborhoods of modern metropolises. These are places inhabited by communities with limited access to education, care, culture and other resources, where boundaries are not defined by walls, but by social inequalities.
The premiere of the catalogue will be accompanied by a conversation dedicated to the artist's work and the issues raised in the exhibition.
The publication develops and deepens the themes present in the exhibition, becoming an important voice in the discussion of memory, identity and contemporary forms of exclusion.
The conversation will be attended by Krzysztof Gil and Kamil Kuitkowski.
