About the event

This will be one of the most important literary events of the year — the world premiere of Olga Tokarchuk's latest novel “The World is Too Much”. Attention! It will take place... in Wroclaw! October 14, 2026. A unique meeting with the Nobel Prize winner in literature, who is an honorary citizen of the capital of Lower Silesia, will open this year's edition of Bruno Schulz. Festival. The distribution of free tickets starts on Wednesday.

Olga Tokarczuk's new book is a voluminous, almost 700-page novel. Lower Silesia, Wrocław and Wałbrzych become the scene of one of the largest social experiments in European history. In the spring of 1946, people with a complicated past meet in destroyed Wrocław. It is a constellation novel that combines the fates of heroes from Lviv, Drohobych, Buenos Aires, and also follows along the Dniester and Oder River, creating a great story about memory, identity and building a new life after the disaster.

“This book is my act of faith in the power of life, in the power of building the new after a disaster, in the power of diversity. I hope that it will benefit a better understanding of our complex collective identity,” says Olga Tokarczuk.

The world premiere of the novel will take place on October 14, 2026 at 18:00 in the Centennial Hall in Wrocław. The conversation with the author will be led by Prof. Urszula Glensk — literary scholar, lecturer at the University of Wroclaw, literary critic and writer.

The meeting will also be the commercial premiere of the book, so that it will be possible to buy “The World is Too Much” for the first time. Four years ago, Olga Tokarchuk, at the premiere of “Empuzjon”, in the same place, signed her books for a few hours after the meeting - the autograph was received by all the people who waited patiently in a very long queue. It will also be possible to get the author's signature this year.

tickets

Admission to the meeting will be possible upon presentation of a free ticket, which will be available from 9 September at four locations: the Wrocław House of Literature, the Museum of Mr. Tadeusz, the National Forum of Music and the Media Library, during the working hours of these institutions. One person can pick up a maximum of 2 tickets. The number of places is limited. During the meeting there will be an opportunity to buy a book and get an autograph by the author.
