Meeting with Peter the Hermit

We invite you to meet Piotr Pustelnik — doctor of chemical engineering, mountaineer and himalayist, who was the third Pole to win all 14 eight-thousandths.

It took him 20 years to conquer the Himalayan Crown and Karakoram. Annapurna, the last of the fourteen peaks, won in 2010 only after the fifth attempt.

During the expeditions, he saved the lives of other climbers three times. One of the most challenging decisions he made was in Annapurna, abandoning the summit attack to help a sick and blind Tibetan.

Piotr Pustelnik is the recipient of many awards and distinctions, including Explorer and Super Colossus for winning the Himalayan Crown and Karakorum. In 2016 he became the president of the Polish Mountaineering Association. He held this position until 2023.
