The touring festival, which was created and developed exclusively as a result of grassroots initiatives, in 2026 will visit more than forty towns throughout Poland — including Tarnowskie Góry. The partners of the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights — co-organizers of the touring festival in individual cities — select films from the repertoire of the last edition of the Warsaw IFF WATCH DOCS.

About the event

The touring festival, which was created and developed exclusively as a result of grassroots initiatives, in 2026 will visit more than forty towns throughout Poland — including Tarnowskie Góry. The partners of the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights — co-organizers of the touring festival in individual cities — select films from the repertoire of the last edition of the Warsaw IFF WATCH DOCS.

We will talk about the film “Stolen Children” with a special guest — Stasia Budzisz.

Stasia Budzisz — reporter. It deals with the countries of the former Soviet Union, mainly the Caucasus and the Kashubs. Philologist, translator of the Russian language, Kashubian from great-grandmother's grandmother.

Author of reporter books: Pokazaucha. On Georgian Rules (Wydawnictwo Poznańskie, 2019), Welewetka. How Kashubia Disappears (Wydawnictwo Poznańskie, 2023). He publishes in Oko.press, Krytyka Polityczna, Tygodnik Powszechny, New Eastern Europe, among others. The book about Kashubia has been repeatedly nominated for reporter's awards and won the main prize for the best reportage Vivelo Book Awards 2024, the first prize for the best book about Kashubia COSTERINA and the Readers Award as part of the Pomeranian Literary Award. Stasia Budzisz was also a scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture, the City of Gdańsk and the EPIC program, under which she carried out a reporting project concerning oligarchs in the post-Soviet territory. As a reporter and correspondent, she covered the wars in Karabakh, the exodus of Armenians from Karabakh, the war in Ukraine, presidential elections in Georgia, parliamentary elections in Georgia and Armenia, protests in Georgia (2019, 2021, 2023, 2024), etc.
