Toshikazu Kawaguchi will come to Poland once again, and interest in his work in our country does not diminish. The series “Before the coffee gets cold” won the hearts of readers around the world. The first volume sold more than a million copies, and subsequent parts established Kawaguchi's position as one of the most recognizable contemporary Japanese authors. In the spring of 2026, the sixth volume of the series, “Before I Realized I Loved You,” was released.
Toshikazu Kawaguchi will visit the Raczyński Library in Poznań, where he will talk about his work and work on the next volume of the series “Before the Coffee Woes Cold”.
The meeting will be hosted by Łukasz Chmara, popularizer of literature and creator of bookmedia. The conversation will be translated from Japanese by Andrzej Świrkowski, PhD — a respected Japanese scholar, translator and researcher at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań.
“Before the coffee gets cold” is the story of a small cafe hidden in one of Tokyo's streets. The place has been serving carefully brewed coffee for over a hundred years, but unusual stories also circulate about it. According to them, guests can go back in time here.
There is only one condition: they must return before the coffee cools down.
The co-organizer of the event is Relacja Publishing House.
