MEETING WITH ART

At the meeting, we will look at works by Watanabe Seiteia, who lived in

between 1851 and 1918, today a somewhat forgotten artist, and in his lifetime: a recognized artist. His works from

kachō-ga, or paintings

birds and flowers, fill one of the spaces of our exhibition. Compositions,

such as “Lotuses and Ducks” carry a deep message, they also combine virtues

Japanese and European art. How there was such a fusion of different traditions and

values? Who was Seitei? What can we find for ourselves in these frugal,

Surprising forms of scenes?

about the exhibition
