Stas is friends with his Evil Leg, but Mom slowly begins to worry that this unusual friend will bring misfortune to her son. The boy, although he does not lose his good humor, begins to bring poor grades from school and slowly loses more acquaintances. Mom also does not seem to be particularly lucky for interpersonal relationships. Is Evil Foot really that bad? Or is it just a fabrication of Stas, who is trying to evade duties and punishments?
“Stas and the Bad Foot” is a story about a ten-year-old boy with a disability who is raised by his mother alone. About their struggles with everyday reality, overcoming adversity and looking for friends. All this is lined with a solid dose of ironic humor, because after all, this story is much more! Mom fights the system, Stas trains telepathic abilities, and Evil Leg dreams of becoming a cosmonaut. How will their stories unfold?
The show is not just for the young audience.
A performance based on the comic book by Tomasz “SPELL” Grzadli “The Adventures of Stasis and the Evil Foot”. Co-production with the Silesian Puppet and Actor Theatre ATENEUM in Katowice.
Educational and therapeutic activities accompanying the performance were prepared in cooperation with the Iskerka Foundation. We would like to thank all those involved in this cooperation: Jola Czernickie-Siwecka (President of the Iskerka Foundation), Mariola Czernohorska (Operations Director), Aneta Klimek-Jędryce, Aleksandra Kalecie-Żmuda, Grażyna Siwecka and Magda Stajno.
The performance is accompanied by workshops dedicated to organized school groups. Their goal is to create a space for conversation and theatrical activities related to the theme and problems of the performance. The workshops are led by Anna Nowak — theatre instructor, cultural animator, art therapist and educator of the Puppet Theatre and Actor ATENEUM.
Teachers and tutors interested in the workshop are kindly requested to contact the Audience Service Office.
