String Connection — 26th Jazz From New Festival 2026

String Connection is one of the most important formations in the history of Polish jazz. The band was formed in Poznań in the early 1980s on the initiative of Krzesimir Dębski and very quickly became one of the most popular representatives of Polish jazz of that decade. The characteristic sound of the group combined jazz improvisation, fusion, strong rhythm section and recognizable violin parts.

String Connection has performed at the most important Polish festivals, including Jazz Jamboree and Jazz on the Oder, as well as on many foreign stages in Europe, the United States and Canada. In 1983 and 1984 readers of the magazine “Jazz Forum” recognized the band as the best Polish jazz group.

The band's achievements include the albums “Workoholic”, “Live”, “Trio” and other recordings documenting the changing compositions of the group. String Connection suspended regular operations in the late 1980s, but returned to the scene many times in the following years. In 2012, the band also released an album with new material.

On the stage of the 26th JAZZ Od Nowa Festival, musicians who make up the history of this formation will meet: Krzesimir Dębski, Krzysztof Przyowicz, Krzysztof Ścierański and Andrzej Olejniczak. This is a line-up based on artists associated with String Connection for decades and co-creating its signature sound.

The concert will take place on October 17, 2026 at 20:00 at ACKiS “Od Nowa” in Toruń.
