StroFon: Silent films | performance

Every video you watch turns into a silent, static image: an icon of what accompanied its viewing. It is a sign of a double loss: we are not able to repeat the first screening, nor will we return to the times when films changed and ordered our world. The silent films that endlessly assemble and rewind our memory are melancholic, nostalgic and archaeological at the same time.

This performance by Jarosław Cyba, Sebastian Witas and Grzegorz Marcinkowski will deal with such images. We will try to combine images with sounds and words, sometimes achieving the effect of harmony, sometimes dissonance.

The presentation will close this year's edition of the Strofon series.

StroFon is a series of poetic music, which is a continuation of the old cycle Strofy from the Basement. Its purpose is to present artists who combine word with music in an unusual way. The project, initiated by Grzegorz Marcinkowski, was launched in 2025 with a concert by Marek Dyjak. Katarzyna Groniec and Czesław Mozil also performed as part of the series.
