Sulaf

Contemporary Sudanese Soul

Sudanese singer, oud player and composer Sulaf brings the rich musical heritage of Sudan to the live stage.

Oud, voice, electronics and expansive arrangements meet around Sulaf’s extraordinary vocals, creating a sound that carries Sudan’s spirit far beyond its borders.

Drawing on Nubian rhythms, devotional traditions and the Sufi poetry of her great-grandfather, she explores themes of loss, identity, memory and resilience throughout her debut album ABA.
