Once described as a cross between a TED talk and karaoke, Sunday Assembly London is on a mission to combat the loneliness epidemic through community, connection and cake.
Offering thought-provoking guest speakers (ranging from a tightrope walker sharing his insights on courage and fragility, to a hyena expert revealing why they – and not lions – are the royalty of the savannah), awe-inspiring spoken word performances and singalongs to all your favourite cheesy pop classics, come and hang out with the friends that you just haven’t met yet.

About Sunday Assembly
One day, whilst travelling together to a gig in Bath, comedians Sanderson Jones and Pippa Evans mused that what was missing from their lives was something like a church, but totally secular and inclusive of all, no matter what people believed. Shortly afterwards, the first ever Sunday Assembly meeting took place in 2013, at The Nave in Islington.
Now, there are over 40 Sunday Assemblies around the world, operating independently, where people gather to sing songs, hear inspiring talks, and create community together.
The original and largest community – Sunday Assembly London – is based at Backyard Comedy Club in Bethnal Green. They meet every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month, with the exception of August when they like to give their hard-working volunteers a bit of a break!
