Do you have a stomach that teases -- and a mind that never quite calms down? Then you're not alone. Digestive problems, stress and agitation are closely linked, and the key to change lies in the body's perhaps most overlooked nerve: the vagus nerve.
In this lecture, clinical nutritionist Tine Jørgensen takes us into the fascinating world between the nervous system and digestion. We gain insight into how stress, sleep, circadian rhythm, nutrients, gut flora and everyday habits affect both digestion and our mental wellbeing — and how small changes in everyday life can create better conditions for both.
At the same time, cookbook author, Simon Weisdorf, shows how the theory can be put into practice through simple and tasty meals with selected ingredients that support both digestion and the nervous system.
Combining research, clinical experiences and food enjoyment, the lecture offers a fresh perspective on how we can strengthen both our digestion and mental excesses through the choices we make every day.
A lecture for anyone curious about the connection between food, digestion and mental well-being and who would like to understand why the body sometimes speaks through the stomach.
