Suspiria (1977)

“Suspiria” by Dario Argento was a breakthrough in the history of the genre and to this day remains one of the main inspirations for horror creators.

A young American dancer, Suzy Banyon, arrives at the prestigious German ballet school in Freiburg to begin her studies. It is difficult for her to acclimatize to a new place — the repulsive vintage interiors, the murderous exercises, the harsh discipline imposed by the despotic Miss Tanner and the cadre of misfits she leads. During her stay at a school in Freiburg, two schoolgirls die from a gruesome crime, and a few weeks later the rest of the pupils are met by a plague of insects. Suzy is increasingly confronted with rumors about the supernatural history of the building that houses the school and the witches' coven founded here years ago.
