Katarzyna Surmiak-Domańska is a reporter, author of the books “Mokradełko”, “Ku Klux Klan. Here lives love”, “Kieślowski. Close-up”, “Purge”. Winner of the Teresa Torańska Newsweek Award, Kazimierz Moczarski Youth Historical Clubs Award, Warmia and Mazury Literary Award “Wawrzyn”; finalist of the Nike Literary Award, Angelus Award, Beata Pawlak Prize. She is also a member of the Literary Union and the Polish PEN Club. Every day he works in the reportage department of “Gazeta Wyborcza”.
This year saw the premiere of her latest book publication “The World Before Us Did Not Exist. How the war stayed in our homes.” It is, among other things, a reportage-psychological portrait of Polish women and men drawn from the point of view of not overworking and transmitting the traumas of the Second World War — often unconsciously passed on to subsequent generations.
The meeting will be hosted by Rafał Kowalski.
