Swing Club in Mazovia - The Swinging Band concert

The Municipal Cultural Centre in Siedlce and the Mazowiecki Institute of Culture invite you to the second concert of this year's “Swing Club in Mazovia” series. On Sunday, October 25, 2026, the virtuoso The Swinging Band will perform on the stage of the auditorium “Podlasie”.

The Swinging Band (formerly known as The Dixie Swing) is made up of seasoned musicians with years of stage experience. The name of the group clearly defines the style they perform — it is a modern swing full of energy, which preserves the unique atmosphere of the era.

The band's repertoire includes classic compositions by legendary masters of the genre, such as George Gershwin, Duke Ellington, Harry Warren or Cole Porter. The concert program does not lack Polish accents — famous pre-war schlagers by the forerunner of Polish jazz, Henryk Wars.

With fresh arrangements and masterful interpretation, the music of The Swinging Band has enjoyed the unwavering interest of lovers of traditional jazz and entertainment for years.

The Swinging Band's line-up:
👉 Bożena Zalewska — singer. A graduate of the Faculty of Jazz and Entertainment Music in Katowice. She has collaborated with the Zbigniew Górny Orchestra, Krystyna Prońko, Zbigniew Wodecki, Ryszard Rynkowski, Majka Jeżowska, Izabela Trojanowska, Wojciech Gogolewski, Krzysztof Woliński, Wojciech Zalewski, Adam Lewandowski.
👉 Marek Rudnicki — multi-instrumentalist (tenor saxophone, soprano, flute, clarinet). He toured at home and abroad, participated in many studio recordings with many famous artists. In 2000, he was invited to participate in the Ray Charles concert at the Grand Theater. He played in bands: Wojtek Kamiński's Swing Workshop, Five o' Clock Orchestra, Old Timers. Racing Team Swing.
👉 Robert Barczyński — guitarist. Organizational Manager of The Swinging Band. In the 70s and 80s he worked in Warsaw's Stodole, where rehearsals of the Road Jazz Band he founded took place. After 2000, he organized concerts and jazz festivals as artistic director, among others in Augustów (2005-2012), Giżycko (2008-2012), Mikołajki (2005-2009), Dzierzgoniu (2007-2024). In the meantime, he founded bands: Happy Play Dixieland Band, Black Jazz White Swinging Blues, Racing Team Swing and recently The Swinging Band.
👉 Wojciech Puszek — pianist, composer, arranger. He began his career as a jazz musician in 1977 at the Jazz Juniors festival, winning the 2nd prize with the band Seven Up and an individual award. He played in Tie Break, in 1982 he joined Janusz Muniak's quartet, with whom he collaborated until 1987, performing, among others, at the Jazz Jambore festival. He recorded two albums from the Polish Jazz series. He performed with outstanding Polish jazzmen: Tomasz Szukalski, Jan Ptaszyn Wróblewski, Piotr Wojtasik and American jazz musicians such as Freddie Hubbard and Joe Newman. He currently plays for The Swinging Band and Racing Team Swing.
👉 Wojciech Zalewski — bass guitarist, composer, arranger. He has collaborated with Hagaw Association, Novi Singers, Old Timers, Vox group. He played with, among others, Krzysztof Sadowski, Andrzej Kurylewicz, Wanda Warska, Henryk Majewski, Wojciech Gogolewski, Mark Shepherd, Krystyna Prońko. He took part in musical performances in theaters: Atheneum, Rampa, Sirena, Comedy, Theater on Wola, Musical Theater Roma. He composed music for documentaries, TVP series. He currently collaborates with the poet Joanna Mioduchowska and jazz formations: The Swinging Band and Racing Team Swing.
👉 Stanisław Pietrzyk — drummer. He has toured in Switzerland and Germany. For 10 years, as a member of musical groups, he traveled the world touring on ships. He was associated with Hagaw Association, Vistula River Brass Band, Old Timers, Wojtek Kamiński's Swing Workshop, Happy Play Dixieland Band. He currently plays in The Swinging Band.

Swing Club in Mazovia is a concert series organized by the Mazowiecki Institute of Culture for eleven years, in which traditional jazz, swing and modern jazz forms are presented. The City Cultural Centre in Siedlce has been a proud partner of the event continuously since 2016.
