SYL opens VEGA with chaos and love in 2027

The Copenhagen hardcore band has in a short time cemented itself as one of Denmark's most uncompromising live bands. On January 8, they will open the concert year 2027 in VEGA.

The first concert of the year in VEGA is a very special evening. Here VEGA presents a Danish artist/band that knows something unique and represents a sound, a genre or a community that we believe deserves extra focus.

This year we are proud to present SYL as the opening name for the concert year 2027. In SYL's hardcore universe, chaos and love go hand in hand. With an intense nerve, they blend punk, noise rock and hardcore topped with an aggressive and poignant vocal from lead singer Benjamin Clemens. Roaring and frustrated, both on recordings and on the live stage, he draws the listener into the band's fierce and melodic expression.

With a Danish text universe that is as present, sensitive and original as the music is intense. Filled to the brink of political frustration, soul-searching and biting tenderness. SYL has shown time and time again that they represent just how strong and vibrant the Danish hardcore scene is right now.

Among other things, this summer they performed at the Orange Scene together with D1MA, with whom they have collaborated on the hard-hitting single “BURNS”. In a time when genre companions such as e.g. With Turnstile kicking in the door for a wider audience worldwide, VEGA has no doubt that SYL can do the same at home.

“We've been following the band's journey over several years and now believe it's time to let rock — even the more uncompromising kind — come into focus. It is both important and refreshing when attitudes, courage and great emotions are given free rein on our stages,” says Jeppe Nygaard Christensen, Senior Venue Programmer at VEGA.

When the Copenhagen band visited VEGA last time, GAFFA awarded five stars for their Little Vega concert in 2025 and mentioned in 2024 the band's concert at the Norwegian festival by:Larm with the words: “Everyone should experience a SYL concert — punk lover or not.”
