Symbiotics

Man and nature merge in animation performance.

Get really close, right down to the details, as lives arise and disappear again.

The animation company AVA invites the audience into a speculative microworld where man and nature merge - a sensory landscape where the boundaries between the man-made and the natural begin to dissolve.

We often think of man and nature as opposites. It industrialized man in the face of primeval nature. Human intervention that interferes with the natural. The performance is an attempt to let oneself go and let oneself be absorbed by nature.

In animation performances, it is usually the human being who gives life to characters and materials. But can we humans also be animated by nature? Can we give off our isolated perspective by delving into the details of the earth and trying to reproduce it?

Experience a sensory experiment in which what we know as puppetry takes on new meaning when man steps back and lets something else take over.
