SYMPHONY OF ANGELS

“Symphony of Angels” is a concert in which the mysticism of the present day dialogues with the spiritual heritage of English music.

The evening will open with the 4th Los Angeles Symphony by Arvo Pärt, one of the most outstanding contemporary composers whose work has fascinated listeners for decades with its extraordinary simplicity, spiritual depth and characteristic contemplative sound. The symphony was inspired by the Orthodox “Canon of the Guardian Angel”, which Pärt worked on at the time of the creation of the work.

The second part of the program will be filled with Fantasia on Thomas Tallis Ralph Vaughan Williams — one of the most extraordinary works in the repertoire of English music. The monumental, yet subtle sound of the strings creates a sound space of exceptional emotional power, referring to the traditions of ancient sacred music and English polyphony.

In the interpretation of the Polish Chamber Philharmonic Sopot under the baton of Szymon Morus, both works will sound in a space that particularly favors their contemplative and spiritual dimension.

It will be an evening of musical reflection — a meeting with sound, silence and space, where modernity finds its roots in centuries-old tradition.
