Symphony of Generations

“Symphony of Generations” is not only a meeting of artists on one stage, but also a symbolic transmission of musical passion and experience to subsequent generations. The musicians of the Pomeranian Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra will perform together with the students of the Instrumental Faculty of the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz. Anika Rehmus, a graduate of symphonic and opera conducting studies at the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz, will be behind the conductor's desk, where she is currently pursuing her master's degree; she has developed her skills during numerous master classes and international conducting competitions. Since 2024 she has been conducting an orchestra at the State Music School I and II degree in Grudziądz, combining artistic activity with education and popularization of music among young people.

The evening will be opened by a dramatic overture to the opera “The Power of Destiny” by Giuseppe Verdi. Then Mikołaj Sarad will perform as soloist in Henri Tomasi's Saxophone Concerto full of expression and virtuosity.

The finale of the concert will be Antonín Dvořák's 8th Symphony in G major — a work full of melodies, lively rhythms and inspiration from Czech folk music.
