'The Lucky' — Cooney's excellent farce returns to the poster of the New Theatre in Zabrze. After almost thirty years, at the urging of the audience, we decided to bring this show to life again. This time the project was undertaken by Marcin Sławiński. A wonderful director who has been creatively friends with our theater for years. Viewers have repeatedly appreciated the artistry of this creator, applauding his performances “Window to Parliament”, “Evil Jews”, “Bed Stories”, “Farce for Three Bedrooms” or the cult title “Vampire”.

Who is lucky and who is unlucky? A lie has short legs... but... tax evasion and illegal withholding of welfare payments is a harbinger of disaster. For Eric Swan, a combinator and lover of scams, the court day has come. Will he find an accomplice in Norman's posh roommate? Will he be able to hide everything from his wife Linda? They are great challenges and a spark for complicated intrigues and ways to get out of oppression. And all this happens at a frantic pace and is embellished with the comicism of the characters and brilliant dialogues.

The House of Swans is filled with uninvited guests: Controller Jenkins fighting a washing machine, a strange therapist psychologist, a funeral worker, a ruthless and vigilant head of a social welfare facility, and the unpredictable old Uncle Georg, a resident and good, but horned soul of the house.
