ul. Piotra Niedurnego 69, Ruda Śląska

(...) It is a lively performance, with lively action, very efficiently played, with a whole lot of exquisite, rhymed dialogues in Silesian, with which the actors freely “switch”. He is, of course, behind “serious” shows about Silesia, for example in the Silesian Theater, but he is far from “bercikowo-krupniok” jokes, that is, not very volatile jokes showing Silesians in a crooked mirror.

Silesian rhymes. After the premiere of “Szeryfa z Fryn city” in Ruda Śląska

Sure — there is in “Sheriff of Fryn city” an exaggeration, a distance, a joke. But with artistic flair, tenderness towards those portrayed, delicacy in relation to the subject. Zbigniew Stryj used the story of Silesian emigrants to tell about fundamental issues: love, identity, longing. In the rhymes he also included observations about modernity. At the same time, he managed to show the beauty of the Silesian godka and masterfully conduct the acting ensemble.

Wild West after “our”

“Godosh normally?” “Me, or at home, because you have to track people.” So I would probably answer the question of “godom”. And I think it's not just me. Many young people, especially those who do not use slang at home, but feel it subcutaneously.

(...) The scenography created by Zbigniew Stryy and Paweł Janicki is very pleasing to the eye and believable. The closing of the action in the space of the old saloon gives the illusion that somewhere there, behind the moving door, there is this prairie, there are horses tied to a conjugate, wagons are passing, and somewhere under the forest there are Indians galloping. All this is complemented by various little things: an old wheel, a pounding straw, a forgotten cowboy boot. One could charge the chaos that, in essence, this is all that has been included in the schematic association — the Wild West — but given the location of the action, it must be admitted that it makes sense. To this paragraph I will add Dorota Zeliszek costumes that won my heart. Simple, very cowboy, appropriately redrawn and rigged with the characters of the characters. The “second part” of the scenography by Magdalena Chrostek breathed change into the stage space and conveyed the character of the change, but I don't want to reveal too much.

A few words about acting creations, and if I don't feel too good, I'll start with the one that believed me the most. The role of the titular Sheriff, created by Krzysztof Wierzchowski, was a mystery to me until the end of the show. I really wanted to see it faster than the heroes, I wanted to be smart and I wanted them to be smart too, and in the end it turned out that I managed to surprise me anyway. Two weeks later, writing this review, I still don't know if I like this character or not.

It is much easier for me to consider the rest of the heroes. The male part led by Gray Erwin - hans from Rudy (played by hany from Zabrze - Zbigniew Stryi), is the power of muscles, testosterone and the right of a strong hand. His two sons, the more calm Johnny (Jan Woldan) and the quick-tempered Ted (Jakub Podgórski), help and strain their father's nerves in equal measure. The fair sex is represented by Rita in Black (gorgeous as always — Joanna Romaniak), who achieves what she wants with cunning and resourcefulness. She is helped by her sister - sweet and flirty Nelly (Nina Siwy) and daughter - rebellious cowgirl Hannah (Anna Białoń).

Only in Silesia...

And even the Wild West, which seems to some to be a land of milk and honey flowing with our “Silesia”, simply cannot compare.

Well, unless this Wild West happens on the stage of the Henryk Bista Municipal Cultural Center in Ruda Śląska, the Godka certainly does not get strange, but as justified as possible, how beautiful and the heart grows, that it is still current, cultivated. And if it sounds in a comedy authored and directed by Zbigniew Stryi, then listening to it is one great pleasure.

(...) The story was created on the canvas of historical events, when the Slavs emigrated from their native lands, just towards the setting sun of the Grand Canyon and a vast bonus. To see this land and die! But to live in it? Not necessarily. No exaggeration and pathetic drama! Because although the emotions surrounding this story will not be lacking, they will certainly be exclusively positive: funny, joyful, sentimental, full of emotions and embellished with our good Silesian wit

(...) A story certainly with a dizzying pace, fast-paced action, interesting plot and a tale that no one expects! Costumes probably come from the most Hollywood westerns. Characters conducted in a very interesting multidimensional way, certainly out of the box, and acting... See for yourself!
