GREENHOUSE 2027 • VIGILANCE • OPEN CALL

The “Greenhouse” program is a place for the safe development of artistic and social projects.

We support people who want to refine their idea and turn it into a real action. For six months, during feedback sessions, we accompany participants in the implementation of participatory projects. Just as in a real greenhouse, ideal conditions are created for plants to grow, so we provide a safe space where ideas turn into real projects.

The program is a joint initiative of Dom w Aleje (a branch of the Śródmieście Cultural Center) and the Department of Social Arts (Institute of Polish Culture, University of Warsaw).

The theme of the 3rd edition of the Greenhouse program is VIGILANCE.

In times of constant change, information overload and global crises, vigilance is a necessity and a challenge. It allows you to understand reality, perceive new phenomena and predict the threat.

The accelerated circulation of images and texts, however, makes it increasingly difficult to assess what is important and what simply attracts attention. Vigilance therefore involves not only observing and listening, but also critical evaluation and distinguishing signal from noise. It is indispensable not only in times of anxiety, but also in everyday life in an interspecies community. It means being attentive to the environment — other people and the environment. It cannot be limited to theoretical considerations or symbolic gestures. It is significant when it becomes a daily, difficult practice.

Vigilance requires effort and moderation. It can also lead to excessive suspiciousness and a permanent readiness to react — a state of tension in which everything becomes urgent.

What is worth noting so that it does not become a problem? When does vigilance protect and when does it take away calm? How can vigilance be taught? Is it possible to be alert without living in a state of alarm?

What are we looking for?

New, original ideas for participatory artistic activities that:
assume the participation of the inhabitants of Warsaw,

engage the audience creatively,

have not been implemented before

are possible to realize in the House in the Alleys,

They are free and non-commercial.

salary 2500 PLN gross + 500 PLN for the production of the project

Stage I Results: November 20, 2026

Talks Phase II: November 23-27, 2026

Talks Stage III: 30 November-1 December 2026

Final Results: December 2, 2026

Project implementation: December 7, 2026 - June 30, 2027

Program Summary Event: June 4, 2027
