We invite you to the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw for family workshops from the series “Art in a jiffy”.
“Sztuka na migi” is a workshop for children aged 5—10 years — both G/deaf and hearing — and their caregivers. Classes are an opportunity for creative activities in a family group and learning basic concepts in Polish Sign Language (PJM). Whether you communicate every day at PJM or just want to get to know him — we invite you to have fun together and discover art in a new way.
During each meeting, we will take a look at one of the exhibitions presented at the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, learn a few signs at PJM and create our own art works inspired by selected works of art. There will also be specially prepared coloring books with familiar signs waiting for the participants — they can be taken home and together with loved ones to record the newly learned words.
The workshops are conducted at PJM by Jagoda Cerkiewnik — a deaf graphic designer and educator. Classes are translated into phonic Polish so that even people who do not speak PJM can participate in it.
Biography of the teacher:
Jagoda Cerkiewnik — Deaf graphic designer and educator in various Warsaw institutions and art galleries. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, a student of Polish sign language philology at the University of Warsaw.
