Stage: Summer Progression Scene
Organized by Fource
Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Mark Owen form Take That, continuing the legacy of one of the most successful groups in British chart history, with over 45 million records sold worldwide and 12 number 1 hits in the UK.
Formed in 1989 as a quintet, the band was immediately successful: their first two albums reached the 2nd and 1st places on the charts, respectively. Their third album, Nobody Else, sealed their global dominance, selling more than six million copies and topping the charts in 11 countries. Robbie Williams' departure from the band led to the group's breakup in 1996 and a nine-year hiatus before the remaining four musicians teamed up on “The Ultimate Tour” in 2005. This marked the start of one of the biggest comebacks in British music history, with Take That releasing three number-one albums in just four years. Robbie's 2011 comeback with 'Progress' brought the band records in the UK for the fastest-selling album of the 21st century and the fastest-selling tour in history. Williams' second departure, with the departure of Jason Orange, left a three-member line-up that released the albums “III” and “Wonderland” (2017), achieving platinum and gold status for them respectively.
The band celebrated their 30th anniversary with the release in 2018 of the greatest hits compilation “Odyssey”, featuring refreshed versions of their most popular tracks from a three-decade career. The album debuted at No. 1 on the charts, followed by a critically acclaimed tour of stadiums and arenas in the UK and Europe in 2019.
With the release of their ninth studio album “This Life” in 2023, the group scored their ninth number 1 and released the British artist's best-selling album that year, surpassing the entire Top 25 set combined. In April 2024, Take That hit the road again with the monumental “This Life On Tour” tour, selling over 700,000 tickets to 41 concerts in 15 UK cities, making it the UK artist's highest-grossing tour that year.
The year 2026 proved to be another extremely successful period for the band: it brought the February premiere of the documentary on Netflix, which hit No. 1 most watched productions, the culmination of the huge stadium tour “The Circus Live” with sales of more than 736,000 tickets, and the announcement of the release of their tenth studio album later in the year.
