“Tausendschönchen” is another name for daisies. And these daisies are the giggling accomplices Marie I and Marie II. They agree that the world has gone bad and therefore want to be bad themselves. And so they happily roam Prague like flower power girls and make fun of everything that is sacred to middle-class society: stiff suits, set dinner and work from 9 to 5 o'clock. The whole thing culminates in a dissolute food fight, during which the girlfriends devastate a banquet for party officials. This irreverent carnival of excesses was the opposite of the state ideology, which glorified workers' productivity and promised them a bright future. Tausendschönen was banned because of his portrayal of hedonism and food waste.
