Join us for a practical CPD session exploring creative ways to engage students in GCSE and A-level Photography through techniques for reworking photographs by hand – without digital editing.
Artist and secondary school teacher Jai Moodie will lead this hands-on workshop. Using a variety of printed photographs provided, you'll experiment with cutting, collage, drawing, sewing and more to consider how images can be a starting point for further creativity.
You'll come away with ideas and techniques to adapt in the classroom, encouraging your students to experiment with new ways of seeing and making images.
The session will also be an opportunity to exchange ideas with fellow teachers, share experiences from the classroom and learn from one another.
All materials will be provided, and you’re welcome to join whether you’re new to these techniques or have tried them before.
About Jai Moodie:
Jai Moodie is a London-based artist, illustrator, and teacher whose practice spans drawing, photography and printmaking. Often taking the city as his subject, his work draws on close observation of everyday life, paying particular attention to how people interact with and make use of the urban spaces around them.
His recent work has increasingly turned towards walking as a form of artistic enquiry, exploring how histories, memories and traces of human activity accumulate within places, and how these encounters can unsettle familiar ideas of home and neighbourhood.
