We invite you to the musical performance “The Snow Queen” directed by Alicja Araszkiewicz, produced by the Wejherowski Cultural Center!
“The Snow Queen” is one of Hans Christian Andersen's most famous fairy tales. It tells the story of two children — Gerda and Kaja, who share a true, pure friendship. One day, a shard of a magic mirror created by an evil Sorceress falls into Kaja's eye and heart. This mirror makes everything good and beautiful seem ugly and bad. From this moment on, Kaj becomes cold and indifferent, and then he is kidnapped by the Snow Queen, who takes him to her ice palace. Gerda, a faithful friend, embarks on a long and dangerous journey to find him — proof that true friendship does not disappear even when difficulties arise.
However, “The Snow Queen” is not only a story about Gerda and Kaja's friendship, but also about different relationships between people - about how encounters with others shape the heroine and help her grow up. Gerda, embarking on a journey, meets many heroes, and each of these encounters shows a different kind of bond and affection. Along the way, Gerda meets various characters: the sleepy Spring, the Fairy in the Garden who wants to keep her at home; the Prince and Princess, who show her hospitality; a couple of Crows who have just got engaged, the Robber who, despite her wildness, helps Gerda; and the Lapland and Finn, who support her with advice and warmth. Each of these relationships is different — some are based on selfishness, others on compassion or selfless help. Thanks to them, Gerda matures and learns that goodness and kindness can be found in many forms. At the end of the fairy tale, it is the power of love and connection between people that makes Kaj saved. In this way, the fairy tale shows that the most important thing in life is relationships with other people - based on kindness, trust and love. It is they who warm the heart even in the coldest world.
The musical performance The Snow Queen, this wonderful story about the power of feelings that can overcome even the most difficult obstacles, is told with singing and dancing, with sincerity and humor, and sometimes with sadness. How it is in life. Fortunately, everything ends well, we believe the same as in life.
