Stanisław Lem's Solarist tale has been translated into the language of a monodrama. Kelvin, the main character, escapes from life and relationships to work. His greatest goal, to which he devotes many years of his life, is to reach the planet Solaris, the secrets of which have not yet been discovered by researchers. The isolation and sense of alienation that accompany his stay on the space station become an opportunity to externalize the inner dilemmas of the main character. His actions so far have been an attempt to suppress the suicidal death of his beloved. It is only the unusual events that take place on the Solaris station that create unexpected conditions for him to meet himself and free himself from the traumatic event. The monodrama form perfectly shows how important to us people and events are a literal part of ourselves. The play will be a metaphysical journey of the protagonist into himself, seeking answers not only in the material world of facts and events of the hero's life, but above all entering the depths of the structure of our transcendental nature.

After the performance, a meeting with the audience is planned, in which the actress Beata Niedziela and the producers of the performance (in turn: sound, light and video projection) will take part. The meeting will have the character of an open discussion, in which the audience can share their impressions after the show, as well as ask questions to the actress and the filmmakers.

The play received the Jury Prize in the theater competition “Amber Ring” — the title of the best performance of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in the 2023/2024 season.

In 2025, he was in the final of three prestigious festivals: the 65th Kalisz Theater Meetings, the Women's Monodrama Festival “Mała Czarna” in Bielsko-Biała and the 49th Opole Theater Confrontations “Living Classics”.

Beata Niedziela is the winner of the Koszalin Eagle in the Culture category. Koszalinski Orzeł is an award of the President of Koszalin awarded for special professional achievements, successes in cultural, economic, social and sports activities promoting the city on a regional and national scale.

Beata Niedziela is also the recipient of the award of the Mayor of Koszalin for achievements in the field of culture, which she received during the XV Gala of Koszalin Culture 2025.

The aim of the TEATR POLSKA programme is to facilitate access to the most outstanding Polish theatre performances for the residents of towns where there is a lack of public theatre. Its task is to popularize theatrical art and eliminate economic barriers to access the theater, especially in places far from the main cultural centers.

The POLISH THEATRE programme has been organised since 2009 by the Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute.

Co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
