TeTaTet Theatre: The Merry Widower

Description

Based on the television series Tom, Dick & Harriet by J. Mortimer and B. Cooke.

Thomas Maddison, a newly married and happy widower, comes to London to get a taste of metropolitan life, especially “by night” after years in the English countryside. His son Richard and daughter-in-law Harriet do not like it, whom he fell on their heads. On the very first day, it turns out that the deceased wife did not write down a penny for her son, leaving all her great fortune to her husband. True, the will has not yet been read, but our hero is sure of his imminent inheritance, so he unscrupulously asks the hosts for a loan, since he made an appointment with a young woman for dinner. The old master's nightly maneuvers give rise to a series of farcical events, and the effect of Thomas's five-day stay with the children is extremely fruitful...
