Workshops inspired by Janina Turek's diaries, which we present at the exhibition State of Possession. 745 notebooks, in which the author wrote down details of everyday life for 57 years — tea drunk, watched films or received calls — will become an excuse to talk about how to work with archives.

Workshop leader Małgorzata I. Niemczyńska, a reporter with many years of experience and author of biographical books, will share with the participants practical tips on how to collect material for stories about someone's life. Where to start? How do I get to unpublished documents? What can be read from them? What tools to use? Why is it worth it? The workshop will answer these and other questions.

Leading:

Małgorzata I. Niemczyńska — born in 1982, writer and reporter, for years associated with “Gazeta Wyborcza” and “Duży Format”, author of the non-fiction book Możek. Striptease neurotic and novels Boris or One Day of Summer, as well as the biography of Baba on the barricade. The story of Anna Świrszczyńska (premiere in October 2026), winner of the Barbara N. Łopieńska Prize, the Małopolska Journalists Award and the Krakow Prize of the UNESCO City of Literature, three-time finalist of the Grand Press competition.
