Silent Green presents
Faitiche returns to silent green and presents two solo acoustic sets: For the first time, Ulla performs a set exclusively with acoustic instruments. Martin Brandlmayr presents a new electroacoustic solo work for an ensemble of spatially distributed percussion instruments.
Ulla Ulla lives and works as a musician and composer in Berlin and is known for complex, resonant ambient compositions — characterized by an ethereal combination of moving electronic sounds and electroacoustic textures that open up intimate and spectral soundscapes.
Since 2016, Ulla has released several critically acclaimed albums, including Big Room (2019) and Tumbling Towards A Wall (2020). In 2022, Ulla published Foam, a work that includes piano, guitar and edited vocal fragments and was particularly recognized for its distinctive sound design.
Ulla's latest work Hometown Girl, released under the alias u.E. on her own label 28912, marks a departure from earlier electroacoustic and digital compositions and turns to a more acoustic approach — with clear-sounding guitar, woodwind instruments and piano. Ulla has worked with labels such as Quiet Time, West Mineral Ltd., Motion Ward, Longform Editions and 3XL. For Temple of Faitiche, Ulla presents a set exclusively with acoustic instruments for the first time.
Martin Brandlmayr Martin Brandlmayr works in the field between improvisation and composition and at the interface of electronic and acoustic sound worlds. As a drummer, he is known for his unmistakable style, which combines experimental methods and advanced playing techniques with groove elements. Since the mid-90s, he has been researching hidden sounds and tonal aspects of the instrument, which has resulted in a special playing style characterized by rhythmic and tonal precision.
He is a member of the groups Polwechsel, Trapist and Kapital Band 1 and became internationally known primarily through the trio Radian, founded in 1997. With Radian, he has released seven albums since the end of the 1990s, five of them with the US label Thrill Jockey. Martin Brandlmayr worked with David Sylvian, Howe Gelb, Christian Fennesz, Ken Vandermark, Otomo Yoshihide, Sachiko M, John Tilbury, Mats Gustafsson and The Necks, among others. In silent green, Brandlmayr presents a new electroacoustic solo work for an ensemble of spatially distributed percussion instruments. Sponsored by SKE (austro mechana).
