Jindra and Karel (in these roles Katarzyna Ucherska and Jakub Józefowicz) seemingly have everything they need to start a happy life — their own angle, stability and, above all, great love. However, not everything agrees with the scenarios written by their mothers — the hippie and free-spirited Gene Sedláková (Izabela Dąbrowska/Justyna Sieńczyłło) and the ruthless businesswoman Karla Králová (Ewa Gawryluk/Lucyna Malec) taken straight from the Dynasty. They are seemingly as different as fire and water, but they share a tendency to design their own — quite different — expectations for a young couple.
After all, a child always remains a child, right? However, they will have to grow up... the mothers-in-laws themselves, who undoubtedly await the final lesson in letting go. Accustomed to pulling the strings, Gene and Karl, as a result of an absurd coincidence, will have to trust their children. Will they overcome their differences and learn to accept Jindra and Karel's choices?
“Mother-in-law eternally alive” is a play prepared especially for the 15th anniversary of the Kamienica Theatre, chosen by the founder and director of the tenement house — the late Emiliano Kamiński. With lightness and warmth, Jakub Zindulka analyses complicated love-family relationships and asks questions about the most important matters with a truly Czech humour. And all this is given in the form of a “slightly” musical comedy masterfully directed by Olaf Lubaszenka.

However, for me the biggest and very positive surprise was Jakub Józefowicz, for whom the role of Karel is his debut in the dramatic theater. To date, he played in television series, two feature films, and on the theater boards he played the character of John, in the famous musical “Metro”. However, a musical is a completely different fairy tale than a classic theatrical performance. Józefowicz can safely record his debut on the stage of the drama theater, under the rubric SUCCESS.
(...) And it is this confrontation of two polar different attitudes, temperaments, characters, but also worldviews that is the provider of extremely intriguing fun and intelligent, not devoid of warmth of humor, which arouses genuine laughter in the audience from beginning to end. I will only mention, because it must not be revealed, that Zindulka used in “Mother-in-law...” a dramatic concept very interesting in structure, which significantly changes the perspective, changes the fate of the title heroines, condemning them to find themselves in completely new circumstances and in a space forcing a different look at their entire life so far, both her own, as well as always present next to her partner.
