About the event

A hundred thousand now or a million in ten years? We usually live in the blissful belief that we are decent people. That we have a solid moral backbone and no such numbers with us... But until there is a moment of real trial - we don't really know who we are...

The choice facing marriage - Pola (Daria Widawska) and Daniel (Mariusz Slupiński) is not easy. A seemingly innocent, social game carries serious consequences when real money is laid out on the table. When each of the spouses wants to decide on a different option, a marital fight for arguments begins, which unexpectedly gets out of hand. Spicy details from the couple's life come to light, which become a real breeding ground for their... friends — millionaire Bruno (Jarosław Boberek) and young psychologist Beata (Aleksandra Grzelak). Innocent play unleashes demons and emotions get out of hand. A seemingly trivial test turns out to be a life trial and a choice between love and money.

The test, written by Jordi Vallejo Duarri, is an extremely endearing play about love, lies and hidden desires. The show reveals the power of both true feelings and money for people of the 21st century.

The masterful dialogue and addictive plot of the play make the viewer become a participant in this not easy game. Will the test — a kind of test of decency and morality — show who you really are?

Jordi Vallejo Duarri's “TEST”, brilliantly directed by Tomasz Obara, is not a light, easy and pleasant performance, where you can train your diaphragm for two hours and then happily remember every merrier piece. The play is painfully realistic and life-like. It is actually a vivisection on living organisms of several very close people, even friends. This theme is present in the culture and is present in various arts, always arousing great emotions in viewers. Perhaps this is due not only to the subject matter but also, as a rule, to the excellent cast of these performances or films. During the viewing of “The Test” there are associations with two wonderful films: “Immoral Proposal” and “It is good to lie in a nice company” (...) .It is worth going to this show and see this change in moods and in general the behavior of the people closest to you. Admittedly, all four actors play so reliably that at times one gets the impression that they are sitting behind a Venetian mirror or in an invisible hat and participating in a real conversation.

Visits to the next premieres in Kamienica never disappoint. We are not promised a breakthrough in the perception of the world. Reliable entertainment is promised, and sometimes wise reflection on reality. “Test” directed by Tomasz Obara is announced as a comedy. In fact, the audience laughed rarely, but this is not so much evidence of the ineffectiveness of jokes, as of the difficulty of categorizing such texts. We are dealing with a seemingly light story. Pretty grim indeed. [...] The whole thing generates emotions and triggers psychodrama. We have already seen such marital strife at the table — in many plays or films. But here, I repeat, we have several layers, so there will be no end to the accusations, the unmasking and the ripping of masks. In the background, we are faced with a discreet question about the madness and effectiveness of psychological tests, theories and experiments - the fourth protagonist is the psychologist Beata, a millionaire woman. But also about the limits of fidelity or friendship in today's world. About the role of material temptations and whether something matters more than them.

The lights went out... the hall and every spectator were completely dark. You were left alone with your thoughts... Then countless stars shone on the stage — how innumerable are the decisions we have to make in life. After a while, the stars reflected in the windows of the apartments of lost people, residents of a big city full of sighs and human stories. We look into one of these windows. We dashingly enter someone's life to immerse ourselves in the story of three friends... Friends?! Are they really them?! Everyone adheres to some principles in life, pursues some goals, creates a list of priorities for himself and goes through the world... every day more and more decisions are made and more and more to be taken... and yet “life is the art of making decisions”. And you?! Do you know how to make decisions?! Do you know what you want from life? Do you have a price at which you would sell your values?! You think you're incorruptible? Ah... The magic of the theater... The actors created such a wonderful illusion that the viewer is no longer an observer of the events taking place on the stage, but gets carried away by the stories and becomes a participant in the events! A show of acting at its best! Everything is wonderfully thought out and every element contributes to the success of this show: the actors, the director, the script, the set design — ah...

Despite the serious subject matter, there is no shortage of humorous scenes in the performance. This well-written play with great dialogues found an excellent staging expression on the stage of the Kamienica Theater. The director's attention to detail elevates the drama of the play. Also a carefully selected cast and a great acting performance of each character builds the artistic level of the performance.
