Saramonovich's play, contrary to the title, which suggests the apotheosis of masculinity, is “a dismantling of the macho myth”, as Gazeta Wyborcza wrote. This is a debate about modern men. The wedding of one of the heroes, or rather the sacramental “NO”, heard from the chosen one, is an excuse for male analyzes of their own nature. A satire full of obscene jokes about the biological place, hormone-driven males on the evolutionary ladder of humanity, or perhaps an attempt to find the answer to the question of how to be a vulnerable man in today's world? And not to be taken advantage of by women? Saramonovich responds with his work to the wave of women's literature under the sign of “Bridget Jones's Diary” (...). Men look at this problem from a different angle, namely, such phenomena as infidelity or constancy explain themselves with examples from nature.” (R. Pawlowski “Porn Generation and Other Unpalatable Theatrical Works”)

About the event

“Testosterone” comedy by Andrzej Saramonovich — a thing about modern men

The success of “Testosterone”

Saramonovich's play is sensationally written. It will shy away from linguistic jokes and surprising twists. In the first season, “Testosterone” saw almost thirty thousand viewers during more than a hundred performances! The play was awarded at the Talia Festival in 2003 and is still performed on many stages in Poland and abroad.

Cult comedy directed by Piotr Urbaniak at Teatro Bagatela

When Alicja, the famous singer, abandons Kornel Olendzki in front of the altar (in this role the excellent Wojciech Leonowicz, and there is a quarrel in the church, the man has no choice but to pour out his grievances in front of his best friends. The wedding reception turns into an ironic and melancholic meeting of seven guys who, while brainstorming and trying to figure out the philosophy of life, try to redefine the role of men and their dependence on women. Piotr Urbaniak, who undertook the direction of this brilliant and humorous comedy, made sure to expose the characteristically funny and grotesque behaviors of the characters of the “wedding sippy” characteristic of the play's text.
