What do our clothes tell us about who we are -- and what power we have?
The textile school in Holte is a design school for young people with a focus on design, sustainability and craftsmanship. The school combines creative work with strong professionalism and serves for many as a springboard for further education in design, architecture and art.
Based on the Glyptoteket exhibition Power and Fashion in the Roman Empire, a new generation of young designers from the School of Textiles does not interpret dress as a sign of power, status and belonging.
With the suit as an archetypal starting point, students work experimentally with existing materials, textile processing and transformations. Historical and contemporary symbols converge, shift and acquire new striking meanings.
In the classical setting of the Glyptotek, a modern and experimental fashion show occupies the space. Bodies, clothing and movement meet sculpture and history in a staging that challenges both the conventions of fashion and power.
An experimental study of power, body and attire — seen through new eyes.
The ticket gives access to the museum all day — both before and after the event.
