About the event

The Black Dahlia Murder kickstarts 2027 in the Pump House

The Black Dahlia Murder returns to Denmark when the American death metal band visit Pumpehuset on January 20, 2027. The last time they stopped by Pumpehuset, they played a surprise concert in Byhaven.

Since forming in Michigan in 2001, The Black Dahlia Murder have been among the most prominent names in melodic death metal. The band's sound unites the harmonious lead guitars of the Swedish Gothenburg school with the uncompromising heaviness of American extreme metal, where hyper-precise tremolo riffs, razor-sharp harmonizations, shifting blast beats and groove-oriented breakdowns merge into a constantly propulsive expression. All over the place lie the distinctive vowels that effortlessly move between deep growls and hoarse-pitched screams.

The albums Nocturnal, Ritual, Everblack and Nightbringers have helped define the band's modern sound, while their later releases have further developed the technical precision and melodic sense that have made The Black Dahlia Murder a regular reference within American melodic death metal.

In 2022, the band lost lead singer Trevor Strnad, who for more than two decades was a central part of The Black Dahlia Murder. The following year, the band continued with Brian Eschbach as the new lead singer, and in 2024 they released Servitude. The first studio album since the loss of Strnad. The album became both a new chapter and an underscore that the band continues with the same dedication to the music and community they have built since the beginning.

Audiences can look forward to a set that spans more than two decades of material — from the classic cuts to more recent compositions, where dizzying tempo shifts, melodic hooks and tightly packed guitar arrangements continue to form the core of the band's uncompromising sonic universe.
