Return is often understood as something that leads back: to home, to origins, or to something that has been lost. Yet for many people whose histories are shaped by migration, displacement and colonial violence, return remains fragmentary, intertwined with homesickness, melancholy and the experience that certain places or pasts can no longer be reached. On this storytelling walk from the permanent exhibition into the temporary space r e t u r n we will listen to the story of the Indian Cheetahs and discuss the concept of return from a postcolonial perspective.
Prashant Chavan (b.1993, Mumbai, India) is a visual artist and architect currently based in Cologne, Germany. His practice includes video, animation, sculpture and readymades— through his work he explores questions of contemporary coloniality.
