South Korean Hong Sang-soo made his debut as a feature film director with this quietly life-wise tale of five different but recognisable people whose paths cross. It begins as a depiction of an affair between a writer and a married woman, but Hong slowly zooms out and depicts a larger context in which fates intertwine — but in which neither a pig nor a well is included, despite the title!
