The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping

Based on Suzanne Collins’ bestselling novel and set 24 years before the events of The Hunger Games, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping explores the origins of the rebellion through the story of a young Haymitch Abernathy (Joseph Zada).

Teenage District 12 citizen Haymitch is drawn to compete in the Second Quarter Quell, a brutal edition of the Capitol's annual killing games that doubles the number of tributes. Thrust into the Arena, he forms an unlikely alliance with fellow tribute Maysilee Donner (Mckenna Grace), and joins a group determined to resist the Capitol’s oppressive rule under President Snow (Ralph Fiennes).

As the Games intensify, Haymitch must navigate a fight for survival while confronting the power structures that govern Panem. With the stakes higher than ever, his actions within the Arena set in motion a chain of events that will challenge the Capitol’s authority and help lay the foundations for a revolution.
