The Invite

Inspired by the Spanish film model SENTIMENTAL, THE INVITE unfolds as a firework of dialogue that is as funny as it is emotionally charged.

After 15 years of marriage, the relationship between Angela (Olivia Wilde) and Joe (Seth Rogen) is in crisis. There hasn't been dinner together with other couples for a long time. When Angela spontaneously invites the neighbors out of the apartment above them, it becomes apparent that Pina (Penélope Cruz) and Hawk (Edward Norton) are more sympathetic to them than the distant encounters in the elevator had previously suggested. What was intended as a convivial evening with small talk about cheese, wine and interior design develops into a ludicrous rollercoaster of emotions. Who is playing with whom and who will lose control in the end?
