About the event

If you love Brazil. If you love Cuba. You can't miss how these two musical superpowers met. From Pérez Prado's Mambo and Benny Moré's cha-cha-chá in Rio's casinos to João Gilberto whispering boleros. From João Donato's jazz-bossa to "Três Caravelas," a Cuban song championed by Tropicália.

Hear how Cuban Filin gave rise to Nueva Trova with Pablo Milanés and Silvio Rodríguez. How Caetano Veloso's "Fina Estampa" and Roberto Carlo's Spanish-language albums united an entire continent, and how Gil, Chico, Gal, Elis, and Milton turned censorship into a bridge. When Samba meets Son, when Bossa Nova meets Bolero, when Brazil meets Cuba.

The Latin Bridge, created and led by Cuban singer and guitarist Sergio Marciano, joins forces with Brazilian Divyarup Do Nascimento on guitar & vocals (Songwriter) for an energetic, sophisticated, and soulful concert celebrating the extraordinarily rich musical traditions of Cuba and Brazil. Cuban bandleader Sergio Marciano brings his acclaimed ensemble, The Latin Bridge, into an exciting cross-cultural collaboration with Divyarup. Together, they bridge the irresistible rhythm, passion, and infectious energy of Cuban Son, Bolero, Afro-Cuban grooves, and Latin Jazz with the warmth, lyrical complexity, and harmonic sophistication of MPB (Música Popular Brasileira), Samba, Bossa Nova, Forró, and Brazilian Jazz. The result is a vibrant live performance filled with beautiful melodies, infectious rhythms, powerful lead and harmony vocals, and exceptional musicianship. Designed specifically for intimate venues like Pizza Express Live Holborn, this performance takes the audience on a seamless musical journey from Havana and Santiago de Cuba to Rio de Janeiro and Salvador.

THE CONCERT

Brazil Meets Cuba is much more than a standard Latin music show; it is an authentic musical dialogue between two legendary traditions, brought to life by The Latin Bridge Quartet and two charismatic singer-songwriters. The repertoire features a dynamic blend of traditional Cuban Son and classic Boleros, alongside carefully rearranged classics from the iconic Brazilian song book with original compositions written by Sergio Marciano and Divyarup Do Nascimento. The concert moves naturally between intimate acoustic moments, rich multi-part harmonies, and high-energy, rhythm-driven peaks that invite listeners to feel the pulse of Latin America. With The Latin Bridge providing a tight, versatile, and authentically Latin foundation, the interplay of Cuban clave and Brazilian groove creates a fresh, distinctive sound that elevates the live listening and dining experience.

THE ARTISTS

Sergio Marciano Pereda, originally from Santiago de Cuba is an accomplished Cuban singer, guitarist, and percussionist based in London. Since 2016, he has led The Latin Bridge, a renowned vocal and instrumental Latin ensemble dedicated to bringing the authentic spirit, rhythmic fire, and romantic elegance of Cuba to stages across the UK. Sergio is widely celebrated for his soulful vocal delivery, rhythmic precision, and deep mastery of traditional Cuban Son, Bolero, and Latin ensemble playing. Through The Latin Bridge, he creates evocative musical connections between classical Latin folk traditions and contemporary jazz settings.

Divyarup Do Nascimento is a UK-based Brazilian musician known for his evocative sound and compelling stage presence. Specialising in a wide spectrum of Brazilian and Latin styles—including MPB, Samba, Bossa Nova, Forró, and Brazilian Jazz—his music gracefully weaves deep Brazilian roots with modern global influences and sophisticated arrangements. His featured contribution brings a masterclass in acoustic groove, warm vocal phrasing, and vibrant Brazilian rhythmic precision to the project.

Together, Sergio Marciano's Latin Bridge and featured artist Divyarup create an extraordinary, harmonious dialogue on stage that highlights the finest elements of both cultural lineages.

WHY “BRAZIL MEETS CUBA”?

Both Cuba and Brazil possess world-renowned musical legacies built upon rhythm, rich melodic phrasing, complex percussion, and passionate storytelling. While each country maintains its own distinct musical identity, they share deep historical roots shaped by African, European, and Indigenous Latin American influences. Brazil Meets Cuba celebrates these shared rhythmic connections while allowing The Latin Bridge and Divyarup to bring their individual flair, heritage, and original repertoire into the spotlight. It is a colorful, rhythmic, and sophisticated concert specifically crafted to engage the senses, making audiences listen, feel, and move.
