It's a bit in the name, but The Legendary Pink Dots is a band that has so truly achieved cult legend status. With an impressively large discography spanning all the way from the early 80s to the present day, The Legendary Pink Dots have carried the tab for true outsider rock for over 40 years. The music created by The Legendary Pink Dots has over time incorporated elements from neo-psychedelia, ambient, electronic music, band music, psychedelic folk, synthpop, postpunk, progressive jazz, noise music, pop music, gothrock and alternative rock... sometimes all at once.

The band is often compared to an industrial version of Pink Floyd of the Syd Barrett era, but when The Dots began, it was actually early David Bowie, The Residents, Can, Faust and composers in musique concrète such as Pierre Henry who had a far greater influence on the band. The long, feverish, dream-like sonic expeditions that characterize the band's extensive catalogue have often received the highest praise.

The group currently consists of Edward Ka-Spel (vocals, keyboards, songwriter), Erik Drost (guitar), Randall Frazier (keyboards, electronics) and Joep Hendrikx (live electronics). They operate outside the mainstream and their discography includes more than 40 studio albums.
