LA CHAMBRE
The story of a crystal good, handsome, funny and honest banker who is betrayed by his fiancée and a friend. The American media reported that this is Citizen Kane of Class B cinema, one of the absolute worst films in the world, an anti-crime, exemplary, multi-level example of how not to make films. A cult movie and so bad that it's a good one.
Tommy Wiseau is the performer of one of the main roles, director, screenwriter and producer of the film. For The Room, he was also the founder of the production company, the president, the executive director, the legal department, the brand manager and everyone you could imagine.
Tommy Wiseau, who for years hid his origin, although everything indicates that his real name is Tomasz Wieczorkiewicz and comes from Poznań, really wanted to be a pioneer and create something unique, but he did not have any knowledge of filmmaking, nor was he particularly open to the attention of more experienced people. Among other things, for this reason “The Room” is the first and probably still the only film in the world to be shot simultaneously on 35 mm tape and HD camera, which required two different lighting on the set and two crews. The film's budget is $6 million, but it's not clear. Initially, “The Room” had a serene attendance flap, but over time among fans of B-class cinema and guilty pleasure enthusiasts it has become iconic, now it is known all over the world.
The Best of the Worst
This is a nationwide film series of diverse class B cinema, from old American sci-fi films with aliens and flying saucers hanging on strings, to the hit action cinema of the 80s with immaculate heroes in orthallion tracksuits, to horror films with rubber monsters.
Low budgets, absurd dialogues, poor acting, illogical plot as well as the commitment and passion of the authors are just some of the common features of the worst films in the history of world cinema, which are presented in the review.
The Best of the Worst films have been awakening among viewers a love for films as bad as they are good since 2015. So far, several hundred screenings and events have been held as part of the review, always with full halls. The originator and programmer of the series is Monika Stolat.
