THREE FOR SILVER

Doom-folk trio Three For Silver will return to The Flea on March 20th!

Three For Silver is a shabby, uncompromising ensemble of shifting musicians led by Lucas Warford—described by Baby Gramps as “the acid child of Tom Waits and Les Claypool.” It's a band that consistently eschews any easy genre designation.

PR people often resort to words like 'Mythic Americana', Doomfolk or Apocalypso. Some of them hit something right, but ultimately feel like emergency solutions in trying to fill a field labeled “genre.” Three For Silver is simply their own size.

The band is known for using distinctive, often homemade instruments and for mixing playing styles in ways one has rarely — or never — heard before. Since 2013, their uncompromising dedication has taken them far and wide: from accordion festivals in Vienna and contemporary music fairs in Russia to international cultural exchange tours in collaboration with the U.S. State Department, in countries with great appetites for original American music.

Three For Silver put the Flea down last year with their seventh album, “Oh! For a Muse of Fire”, in the luggage, and now they return to the Flea on March 20!
