Tina

A performance inspired by the life and work of 20th century music icon Tina Turner. The action will focus on the years of the artist's turbulent relationship with Ik Turner and her great return to the stage as an almost 50-year-old rock'n roll star. The next stages of the life of a famous couple will be illustrated by Tina's hits in new interpretations.

But the story of Tina and Ike's tumultuous, toxic relationship will be the starting point for telling the stories of thousands of women who have been victims of relationship violence. It will become a theatrical analysis of the next stages of life with a toxic partner, a story about breakups and returns, about manipulations that do not allow the victims to break off the toxic relationship, and finally, about how to leave successfully, play va banco, fight for her life, because since Tina managed to get out of hell, there is also hope for each victim.

The performance takes part in the project “TEATR POLSKA”

Teatr Polska is a program organized since 2009 by the Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute. Every year, more than a dozen of the best performances go on a nationwide tour of the houses of culture in places where there is no institutional theater. The partner of the show is the Women's Zone Foundation. The performance “Tina” is part of the campaign ORANGE NOVEMBER. ORANGE NOVEMBER is a social campaign of the Women's Zone Foundation, which takes place in November, and has its unique version in Bielsko-Biała - the city that was the first in Poland to introduce the celebration of ORANGE NOVEMBER by a resolution of the City Council.

The campaign aims to raise public awareness about different forms of violence (against women, children, seniors) and to promote empathy, respect and prevention of violence.

The play takes part in the 32nd National Competition for the Exhibition of Polish Contemporary Art.
