A participatory performance that puts the viewer at the center of the process of destroying and creating the world anew, asking what “recipe” we will choose so that the future tastes good to everyone.

The world seems to be slipping away from under our feet. The order we knew is crumbling before our eyes. We are entering a time of uncertainty — a time of transformation, the end of which we cannot yet imagine. Past times — even those not so far away — seem more stable, safer, happier. But for whom?

To Our Delight is a participatory performance by Olja Grubić, which physically embodies the idea that each generation destroys and rebuilds the world.

It is based on a simple but deeply symbolic act: the performers first build a city out of cakes, then tear it down. This act of destruction reflects a sense of disintegration of the known order and the instability of the modern world. The performance goes deep into the social sphere, touching on the theme of structural violence hidden at the micro level — in intimate, family and intergenerational relationships.
